Hip openers don’t just stretch the body…they tell a story. 📕

The hips are where we often hold stress, unprocessed emotions, and nervous system tension. When we slow down and open this area, feelings can surface - not because anything is “wrong,” but because something is finally moving!

And truth is…we gotta FEEL to HEAL.

Lizard Lunge (Sanskrit name - Utthan Pristhasana)…
• Opens hip flexors & inner thighs
• Releases stored tension from sitting, stress, and overdoing

Frog Pose (Sanskrit name - Mandukasana)…

Discomfort shows up in every pose. Sometimes, it shows up as strong physical sensations in the body (a.k.a that burning in the legs in Chair 🪑 pose or when you start to shake from holding a plank).

Sometimes, it shows up in the mind…like when we get frustrated or agitated when a shape or pose doesn’t feel “good”. Or is just “challenging” in general!

Yoga ultimately teaches us, in these moments, to BREATHE, re-assess, and STAY with ourselves as we feel ALL the “things” we can feel/notice while in a yoga pose.

And to softly, yet confidently, be by our sides… in all the moments we experience…on and off our yoga mat.

Your yoga mat is basically a mirror. 🪞
It reflects how your body AND mind has been feeling — and sometimes that mind is doing the most. 😣

Buddhism calls them the 5 hindrances: desire, aversion, sloth, restlessness, and doubt.
Yoga just calls them… Tuesday. 😂

The magic isn’t in avoiding these enemies that sometimes come up in a yoga practice. It is in noticing them - WITH your breath - to help break the pattern of reaction and to start showing up for yourself!

Some of you are looking outside thinking, “Wait… it’s not even raining!” - and trust me, we feel you. But with tonight’s forecast being so finicky, we decided to play it safe (for you, us, and of course, the goats 🐐💕).

✨ The good news? Goat Yoga at Broken Oar Bar & Grill isn’t canceled… it’s just postponed…to it’s already reserved “back up” date:

📍 Same place, same goats, same fun - just a little extra time to look forward to it.

So instead of rolling out your mat tonight, go ahead and roll with it - and we’ll see you NEXT WEEK for laughter, stretches, and goats doing their goat-thing.
