The 5th Yama, Aparigraha, is the practice of non-attachment.

when we choose to feel instead of control.

When you stay present with your breath and observe yourself - ALL of yourself (body, mind, heart…or emotions) - in the practice, in the pose…you’ll notice your attachments (to comfort and ease) and resistance to discomfort or uncertainty.

The Yamas are the first limb of yoga philosophy - ethical guidelines that help shape how we move through the world and relate to others (and ourselves). Think of them as a foundation for living with greater awareness, integrity, and compassion - both on and off the mat.

Brahmacharya is the fourth Yama and is often misunderstood.

Traditionally associated with celibacy, its broader meaning in modern yoga practice is mindful use of our energy.

Where we place our attention, our time, our emotions, and our effort… that’s where our life force goes.

In a world that constantly asks for more - more productivity, more scrolling, more noise - Brahmacharya invites us to pause and ask:

In yoga philosophy, the Yamas are ethical guidelines that help us navigate how we show up in the world and in relationship with others. 🌎 👫

The third Yama, Asteya, is often translated as non-stealing.

But Asteya goes far beyond physical theft.

Where are we taking more than we need?

Yoga doesn’t end when we roll up the mat.
